HOME LEARNING
Effective home learning gives an opportunity for the child, with the support of parents and teachers, to improve and enhance their learning and take greater ownership of it. We value the many activities children are involved in outside of school, including clubs such as brownies or karate, and also playing games at home and family activities. We would like children to share achievements outside of school with their class teacher.
Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception):
- All children are encouraged to read or share a book for about 10 minutes each day.
- We will also share ideas with you on how you can support them in their learning journey at home through our white board, parent meetings, newsletters and our learning for the week on the class page.
- Children may be asked to bring things in or ask about something at home.
We see the difference that additional practice at home makes to the level of confidence a child may have and also the level of achievement that can be reached. We will work closely with children and their parents / carers to promote excellent shared learning opportunities.
We also highly value the varied activities you may undertake as a family and recognise the rich learning opportunities these present. Please feel free to share these with us on Tapestry.
