Noah's Ark continued.

We have been enjoying holding the chicks!

Term 5 Shoebox habitats - We have used what we have learnt about habitats to design and create our own habitats and animals using a shoebox - we were very creative!

Dance Festival 2022 - We are so proud of the children for performing at the North Somerset Dance Festival at Weston Playhouse - well done everyone who took part!

Term 4 - We have had a fabulous day celebrating World Book Day! The children all looked amazing in their costumes. We did the World Book Day Quiz as a class, wrote and drew our favourite character and said why it was, shared our favourite books with our friends and did a playground parade! We also listened to some stories, read our own books at random points of the day when the bing bong went off, did a reading book scavenger hunt and made finger puppets of our favourite characters. Here are some photos of our outfits... what a day we had!

Term 3 - We have been learning about Brunel and his work on the Clifton Suspension bridge. We then tested materials and chose the strongest materials in our classroom to build bridges in groups. We then tested them to see how many cars our bridge held!

Pete the Poet - We enjoyed a visit from Pete the Poet this week. We loved choosing and dressing up in different clothes and joining in with the poems.

2021 - 22 - We have been learning about healthy eating and used peeling and cutting skills to make fruit kebabs.

Chicks - we have had 10 chicks hatch this week and we have been enjoying looking after them!

Candling of the eggs - We had a teams call with Liz from farmlink who talked us through how to candle the eggs. We then had a go ourselves. We saw the egg sack and veins, it was very exciting!

Clay artwork - we were inspired by the patterns on African Dogon masks to create our clay discs.

Spaceship crash landing! Something very exciting happened that this morning. During our phonics session, Mrs Palmer came in to tell us that she had found something on the playground – she thought it was a spaceship that had crashed! We went out to explore it and then when we came back in there was a picture of a creature on the board with a spaceship that had crashed in the background. We thought the picture may have been taken in our playground so we have been keeping a look out all day for some more clues of what could have happened…. We discovered from the board that it may be part of a story and that the creature’s name is Beegu. We came up with lots of questions about what we had found. Please see below some photos of what we found.

YETI DAY - On Monday we had a Yeti day where we talked about the power of yet. We took part in some growth mindset challenges, thought about what we can't do yet but what we could do to help us get there. We also named our class Yeti and created our own Yetis to remind us that we may not be able to do it yet-i but we will soon!

Science - We did a pepper experiment to test how important soap is.

Chives Superhero artwork - We used the skill of pointillism to create our superhero artwork.
