Week Ending 5/10/18
In English we have been looking at different types of poems and the children have started to write their own poems; including shape poems, acrostic, rhyming couplets and free verse, ready to be published in a class book. We also learnt about onomatopoeia and alliteration and how these features can improve their poems.
In Maths, we have been adding and subtracting multiples of 100s and 1s to 3 digit numbers, the children have been applying their knowledge and representing this in different ways.
The children have also created some artwork in teams, they each painted one half of a picture, communicating and working together to try and match the pictures.
In Maths, we will be building on adding and subtracting by looking at different methods, and crossing boundaries of 10s and 100s.
The children will also be writing their persuasive speeches based on the features in Martin Luther King's speech.
