Keeping Children Safe in Education

If you are concerned about a child's welfare or worried they are being abused please contact one of the safeguarding team in school. Alternatively you can make direct contact with the Local Authority via the South West Child Protection Procedures website

North Somerset Safeguarding Children Board

This will take you to the key portal for all Safeguarding matters in North Somerset and links with some national documents.

Safer Recruitment and Visitors

The school is secure during the school day, so all visitors are asked to report to the main entrance. Please be mindful that for everybody’s safety, identification procedures will be carried out and you will be asked to wear a badge.

All members of staff are vetted against national safeguarding procedures before being allowed to work in school. At least one member of every interview panel has undertaken safer recruitment training to ensure that best practices and all necessary checks are carried out.

North Somerset EARLY HELP for families

Every family has its ups and downs. Being a parent is hard work and there are no instructions.  Sometimes, you or your children may need extra support. This may be before your children are born, when they are very young, or throughout their school years.

There is no shame in asking for help. We are here for you.

Early Help is a programme that helps you recognise what's going well for you. It will help you see where you might need extra support. We will work with you to find the best person to work with you and your family to make this happen.

Sometimes children find things online that aren't always appropriate - even when they're not looking for them. By using parental controls, you can help protect your child from viewing harmful content - and asking awkward questions. If you need help setting up controls on your child's devices, you can call the free O2 & NSPCC Online Safety Helpline for expert advice on 0808 800 5002.
