Captain
CAPTAIN – Space to take responsibility to lead and to serve.
Children are given many opportunities to take the lead for themselves and others in terms of learning and behaviours. We believe this encourages responsibility as well as a sense of belonging and feeling valued within the whole school community and beyond. |
House Vice and Captains are our ‘go to’ students for key roles and responsibilities across the school. They pitch for this role in their House Group and are democratically voted in. More specifically, they lead their House and lead Whole School Celebration Worship every Friday. | We have many small animals, including our school dog, and children love to spend time with them. The Animal Care Team take shared responsibility for their care and wellbeing. During the holidays, families volunteer to look after our pets. |
There are a wide range of Young leader roles which children volunteer or are elected for, that follow their own interests and take responsibility for a specific part of school life: Eco-schools, Animal care, Tech-team, School Council, Choir, Newsletter articles, Library leaders, Playground Leaders, Sport Leaders, Flag dancers, lunch helpers.… | Some young leader Groups link with the Local community, for example Rotary Club, who we bag pack with at local supermarkets; Choir sing at local events and a local residential home. Some groups visit a local residential home and church groups. |
