Term 6 Music

Term 6 - Vocal and body sounds Vocal and body sounds - Seaside story. Using our bodies to learn about dynamics and tempo. Understanding the 'mood' of the music. Exploring timbres, pitch changes. Creating music to represent a day at the beach.

Term 5 Music - Musical vocabulary

Tempo is the speed of the music. We moved slowly like the shark in Jaws! Then quickly like we were surfing Swimming slowly and then quickly- dynamics of the music. Pulse is the beat of the music. Dynamics is how loud or quietly we played. Rhythm is long and short notes. We added texture by playing / tapping and scrapping out instruments.

Term 4 Music Tempo (Theme: Snail and mouse)

We moved to music with a fast tempo and with a slow tempo.

Term 3 Music

Peter and the Wolf! We listened carefully for our character. we listened to the timbre's in the music.

Term 1- DT- Making vegetable soup

We learnt to cut safely using the 'claw grip'. 

Our focus has been drawing and painting this term. In drawing we have used a variety of marks using pencils to create detail and shading when drawing penguins. We have mixed white to create lighter colours (tone) and mixed black to create darker colours (shade). 

In music, we have been learning about rhythm and pulse.
